Peak Scents, a small-batch, woman-owned skincare company with roots in Flagstaff, Arizona, is dedicated to providing fresh, plant-based, and eco-conscious beauty. Peak Scents was founded in 1993 by herbalist DeeAnn Tracy out of a desire for high-quality, organic products made from the earth’s bounty.
Tracy was raised and born in Arizona. Her mother, who was an herbalist, gave her a profound love for the outdoors and respect for it. As a second-generation herbalist, Tracy recalled how my mother taught me to understand plants no only for their purposes but also for their wisdom as a child. Her advice and formulation “inspired the development of Peak Scents” and shaped my approach to formulation.
As a devoted outdoors enthusiast, Tracy discovered that the elements were harsh on her skin and that the majority of the products in stores were loaded with chemicals. She worked as a rafting guide on the Colorado River, managed her family’s natural pharmacist, worked as a therapist at The Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, and studied herbal medicine at The Southwest School of Botanical Medicine. She began creating normal, non-toxic skincare products by combining her knowledge of both the outdoors and botanical medicine.
There wasn’t much discussion at the time about the harmful ingredients in common skincare, but I could see how opaque the sector was, according to Tracy. ” I felt the need to produce products that actually worked without the dangerous additives.”
Peak Scents was founded in Tracy’s desire to provide truthful, successful skincare that was grounded in the normal world, guided by the purity and intuitive intelligence of nature. She lives with her husband, Eric, and teenage son Bodhi in Flagstaff, where she lives with her company Peak Scents, which is named after the divine peaks that surround her hometown. The tenet of Peace Scents is that you shouldn’t put it on your skin if you wouldn’t eat it. All of our products are plant-based (vegan or “beegan” ), cruelty-free, handcrafted in Flagstaff, and free of toxic ingredients, artificial fragrances, dyes, and harsh preservatives.
Rose Phyto3, Power Repair, Wandering The West, and Peak Scents are Tracy’s expanded range of signature lines. Each collection was created to meet individual needs and address certain problems like anti-aging, hydration, and restoration. There is something for everyone skin type with the brand’s varied range of over 50 products. Tracy points out that the brand has other growth and development plans.
” We’re expanding our popular Peak Scents collection to include body treatments, masks, and a number of new skin-loving essentials,” Tracy said. ” Along with these launches, we’re excited to unveil a complete rebrand in February, giving the products a new, raised look.”
Sustainability and community are even top priorities at Peak Scents, which goes beyond just using healthy ingredients. The business collaborates with Greenspark, an economic charity, to reduce carbon footprints, and 1 % of profits go toward various charitable causes aimed at social welfare and ecological conservation. At their in-store refill station, which allows customers to bring in their individual containers or pick up a reusable one for refills, reducing waste and single-use plastic, is also accessible by the ounce.
