Cancer treatment can enslave a family’s lives in ways that are difficult to comprehend from the inside out. There are appointments, treatments, side effects, lonely nights, and lengthy lines of waiting. It can leave kids feeling worn out, exposed, or unlike themselves. It can mean trying to keep everyone moving while living with a constant undercurrent of fear for parents and caregivers.
For families in that area, Hope, Amanda Rainbow Angels was born.
Lorraine Tallman founded the Phoenix-based volunteer in honor of her daughter Hope, Amanda, who passed away from leukemia at the age of 12 in 2012. Amanda had a dream of making comfortable, fashionable clothing for children going through chemotherapy so they could stay comfortable, protected, and have a sense of dignity while they were being treated.
That concept led to Comfycozy’s for Chemo, the organization’s signature dynamic clothing line. Through monetary assistance, counseling, wellness programs, and what Tallman refers to as care for” the here-and-forget needs every family frequently is very uncomfortable ask for,” Hope, Amanda Rainbow Angels continues to help children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases, as well as their families.
She states,” Our mission is to bring dignity and comfort into the tough world of childhood cancer and various life-threatening diseases.”
The strain is not just real for many families. It is continuous, isolating, and personal.
The hardest parts are” the loneliness and not knowing from one day to the next what side effect they will have to deal with,” says Tallman. They usually have life and death at their thoughts.
The wellness programs of the organization come in at that point. Hope, Amanda Rainbow Angels offers children and parents a chance to pause, breathe, and feel cared for, yet if for a brief while using services like massage, yoga, aromatherapy, wellness coaching, and sound healing.
Tallman claims that those instances in a hospital setting can be significant.
Can you picture having someone who cares for your entire family’s well-being walk into your room and give you an hour of peace and relaxation as a parent or caregiver? She says.
That might include breathing exercises to relieve stress and anxiety for a young child. It might be a massage, a peaceful moment, or a once-in-a-lifetime moment of caregiving for someone else for a parent.
Additionally, the organization offers good therapy for hospitalized children, which Tallman claims can clearly alter a room’s atmosphere.
She says,” We have amazing sound therapy programs. You ought to witness our children becoming less anxious. Your body heals more quickly when your body is at peace.
None of it diminishes the difficulty of the diagnosis or the treatment. However, it might cause the space to feel a little lighter. It can give a parent a chance to unload their shoulders or a child a moment of serenity. That kind of care has its own silent value in a season marred by uncertainty.
A HOUSE OF HOPE
The organization is currently getting ready for a fresh chapter. Hope, Amanda Rainbow Angels recently purchased a property for a new wellness center after working toward the goal for approximately ten years. The 1929 home near the Phoenix Art Museum is portrayed by Tallman as a long-awaited realization.
” Tallman says,” Amenities are in heaven doing the happy dance. The moment you walk through our doors, you experience hope and healing.

The wellness center is expected to give families a dedicated place to receive support, connect with services, and find quietude outside the hospital room. Hope, Amanda Rainbow Angels plans to celebrate its grand opening Dec. 1, while also collecting Christmas gifts for 300 children.
We would love to fulfill every Christmas dream, according to Tallman.
For Tallman, the work is still rooted in Amanda’s dream and the families who are currently battling childhood cancer. They require medical attention, but they even require clothing that respects their dignity, assistance with the costs and fears associated with treatment, and support that makes room for the entire family.
They occasionally require an hour of silence. a comfortable shirt Take a deep breath. A small sluggish in the middle of a challenging day.
