Ingredients

1 1/4 pounds side steak thinly sliced

1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

2 cups broccoli florets

2 teaspoons minced new ginger

1/4 cup oyster sauce

1/4 cup beef broth or water

1 cup water

1 teaspoon sugar

2 teaspoons sunflower oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon Naija Grille Spice mix ( optional )

Directions

One teaspoon of vegetable oil should be heated over medium heat in a big cooking pan. Add the garlic and ginger to the pan, and cook for another 30 seconds. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil.

Season the steak pieces with salt, pepper, and Naija Grille spice mix ( if desired ) and add the slices to the pan in a single layer — you may need to do this in batches. Cook each side for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Set away.

Add 1 cup water to a smaller pot and add in broccoli. Cover and allow to steam for 4 minutes. Remove and set off.

Return the broccoli mixture to the pan and cook it for another two minutes, or until the mixture is warmed through. In a bowl, whisk up oyster sauce, beef broth, sugar, olive oil and soy sauce. Mix the cornstarch and a tablespoon of warm water in a small bowl.

Cook for 30 seconds while alternating the oyster sauce mixture with the beef and vegetables. Bring the mixture to a boil by adding the cornstarch. Cook for another minute or until the sauce has only begun to thicken. Serve soon.
